Episode 048 – Using Comedy to Communicate with David Nihill

Sep 6, 2016 | Podcast, Profit Power Pursuit

In today’s episode Tara laughs it up with David Nihill. David is the founder of FunnyBizz, a community, writer platform, and conference series helping content creators access top comedic writing talent. He performed standup comedy at California’s leading clubs, including; Cobbs, The Comedy Store, The Improv, and the Punchline, even though he strongly denies being a comedian. He is well aware most people don’t understand his accent, and he is also the author of “Do You Talk Funny?” a book about incorporating humor into public speaking.

Tara wanted to dig deep and find out more about how he turned a popular class on Udemy into a book. They talk about why he started experimenting with comedy initially, the impact of student feedback on the development of his idea, and his favorite techniques for incorporating humor into ANY kind of business content.

David teaches a class on CreativeLive, How to Become a Funnier Speaker, which is available to watch for free on September 15th, 2016.
