This week, Tara’s guest is Jennie Nash, the founder and Chief Creative Officer of Author Accelerator, a book coaching program that provides feedback, accountability, and support for writers so they can finish their books and finish strong. Through her accelerator, writers have landed top New York agents, and been selected as Pitch-Force mentees and Women’s Fiction Writers Association prize winners. In her private consulting work, Jennie coaches writers of memoir, non-fiction, and fiction. Her clients have landed book deals with houses such as Scribner Simon and Schuster, Hachette, and Ten Speed. Jennie herself is the author of four novels, three memoirs, and a book about navigating the writing life.
Tara and Jennie talk about the identity crisis that came from moving from book writer to book coach and again from book coach to founder. They also discuss how she created a way to scale high-touch service without losing the service or the high-touch, and how she developed a process for hiring people to do the work to uphold her high standards.
